In­stru­men­tal Stu­dies and Con­duc­ting Mas­ter (Fo­cus: Per­for­mance)

The Mas­ter's pro­gram in In­stru­men­tal Stu­dies and Con­duc­ting Mas­ter (Fo­cus: Per­for­mance) (KIA) has been of­fe­red at the HfMDK sin­ce the win­ter se­mes­ter 2012/2013, with the fol­lo­wing pro­files

• So­loistic trai­ning (not for or­ches­tral in­stru­ments)
• Or­ches­tral trai­ning

The aim of the Mas­ter's pro­gram is to pro­vi­de stu­dents with the com­pe­ten­ci­es that en­ab­le them to in­de­pendent­ly pur­sue the pro­fes­si­on of an or­ches­tral mu­si­ci­an or so­loist.

Ex­plo­ring ca­re­er paths, de­ve­lo­ping com­pe­ten­ci­es

In­dis­pensable crea­ti­ve qua­li­fi­ca­ti­ons that are re­qui­red and en­cou­ra­ged in the cour­se of stu­dy are:

• an ar­tis­tic and tech­ni­cal de­ve­lop­ment on the re­spec­tive main in­stru­ment that can meet the de­mands of to­day;
• an over­view of the con­stant­ly gro­wing re­per­toire;
• the abi­li­ty to crea­te dra­ma­tur­gi­cal­ly ap­pe­aling pro­grams; and
• so­ci­al skills that are ne­cessa­ry for working in an or­ches­tra and that im­pro­ve coope­ra­ti­on with con­cert or­ga­ni­zers, con­duc­tors and the au­di­ence.

Ad­mis­si­on to the mas­ter's pro­gram in In­stru­men­tal Stu­dies and Con­duc­ting Mas­ter (Fo­cus: Per­for­mance) re­qui­res a first com­ple­ted uni­ver­si­ty de­gree in the re­spec­tive in­stru­men­tal ma­jor and a pas­sed qua­li­fy­ing ex­ami­na­ti­on.

The Stu­dy and Ex­ami­na­ti­on Re­gu­la­ti­ons (SPO) set out the frame­work con­di­ti­ons and re­gu­la­ti­ons for your stu­dies. They ap­p­ly tog­e­ther with the Ge­ne­ral Re­gu­la­ti­ons (for Ba­che­lor's and Mas­ter's de­gree pro­gram­mes) or the SPoL (for tea­cher trai­ning de­gree pro­gram­mes).
