The ex­ten­ded Se­na­te of the HfMDK elec­ted two new Vice Pre­si­dents yes­ter­day. From De­cem­ber 1, 2025, Prof. Dr. Ul­rich Krepp­ein and Prof. Tim Vog­ler will join the Pre­si­di­um un­der the lea­dership of Pre­si­dent Prof. El­mar Ful­da for a term of three ye­ars.

Ire­ne Gal­le, stu­dent as­si­stant in the li­bra­ry, will in­tro­du­ce you to the se­crets of using the HfMDK li­bra­ry on No­vem­ber 3 and 5, 2025, at 2:30 p.m. The gui­ded tour will be held in Eng­lish. Group size is li­mi­ted - re­gis­ter now!

Ge­or­ge E. Le­wis is En­do­wed Guest Pro­fes­sor of Com­po­si­ti­on 2025/26. In Oc­to­ber, the HfMDK wel­co­mes him to his first work pha­se - pa­cked with lec­tu­re-rehe­ar­sals and work­shop dis­cus­sions. It starts with his in­au­gu­ral lec­tu­re on "New Mu­sic De­co­lo­ni­za­ti­on in Eight Dif­fi­cult Steps".

The Ger­man Com­po­ser­s' As­so­cia­ti­on ho­nors the In­ter­na­tio­nal En­sem­ble Mo­dern Aca­de­my (IEMA) with the FEM Pin 2025, which will be awar­ded on Oc­to­ber 17. The award re­co­gni­zes the com­mit­ment to trai­ning young mu­si­ci­ans and tea­ching con­tem­pora­ry mu­sic.

Re-re­gis­tra­ti­on dead­lines, over­due no­ti­ces from the li­bra­ry, messa­ges from the ex­ami­na­ti­on of­fice—sin­ce June 2025, stu­dents and lec­tu­rers have been re­cei­ving all im­portant in­for­ma­ti­on via their uni­ver­si­ty email ad­dress. Fi­nal­ly a per­spec­tive for the fu­ture: the new buil­ding for the Frank­furt Uni­ver­si­ty of Mu­sic and Per­forming Arts will be built on the cul­tu­re cam­pus in Frank­furt-Bo­cken­heim. This agree­ment was an­noun­ced by the Sta­te of Hes­se and the City of Frank­furt at a press con­fe­rence in March 2025.
