Doc­to­ra­te

At the Frank­furt Uni­ver­si­ty of Mu­sic and Per­forming Arts, the De­part­ment 2 (sub­jec­ts Mu­si­co­lo­gy and Mu­sic Edu­ca­ti­on) and the De­part­ment 3 (sub­ject Dance Sci­ence) award the aca­de­mic de­gree of Doc­tor of Phi­lo­so­phy (Dr. phil.) on the ba­sis of pro­of of spe­cial sci­en­ti­fic qua­li­fi­ca­ti­on by me­ans of a dis­ser­ta­ti­on and an oral ex­ami­na­ti­on (dis­pu­ta­ti­on).

Ad­mis­si­on to the doc­to­ral pro­gram re­qui­res a mas­ter's de­gree or tea­ching de­gree for high schools in mu­si­co­lo­gy, mu­sic edu­ca­ti­on, or dance stu­dies. The de­tails and ex­ten­ded op­ti­ons are sta­ted in the doc­to­ral re­gu­la­ti­ons in §4 and §5.

PhD Com­mit­tee

PhD Committee

The doc­to­ral com­mit­tee of the HfMDK is re­spon­si­ble for all doc­to­ral mat­ters and in par­ti­cu­lar for the or­ga­ni­za­ti­on of the doc­to­ra­te. The doc­to­ral com­mit­tee con­sists of the pro­fes­sors and the ha­bi­li­ta­ted aca­de­mic staff mem­bers who re­p­re­sent the sub­jec­ts of mu­si­co­lo­gy, mu­sic edu­ca­ti­on and dance stu­dies at the Uni­ver­si­ty of Mu­sic and Per­forming Arts.
