When does the e-mail ad­dress be­co­me ac­tive?

Free­lan­ce lec­tu­rers who have a tea­ching as­sign­ment in the sum­mer se­mes­ter 2025: You will re­cei­ve a mes­sa­ge to your pri­va­te e-mail ad­dress with all the im­portant in­for­ma­ti­on. As soon as you have re­cei­ved this mes­sa­ge, you can set up your HfMDK e-mail ad­dress.

New free­lan­ce lec­tu­rers: Your uni­ver­si­ty e-mail ad­dress will be set up at the same time as your HfMDK ac­count. You will re­cei­ve a one-time mes­sa­ge to your pri­va­te e-mail ad­dress with all the im­portant in­for­ma­ti­on.

Do I have to use the uni­ver­si­ty e-mail ad­dress?

From June 12, 2025, the uni­ver­si­ty will send in­for­ma­ti­on about your tea­ching as­sign­ment only to your HfMDK e-mail ad­dress.

For rea­sons of IT se­cu­ri­ty, the sin­gle sign on log­in to ser­vices such as Cam­pus­WEB, mood­le etc. can only be set up via an HfMDK e-mail ad­dress and not via an ex­ter­nal e-mail ad­dress, even for you as a self-em­ploy­ed lec­tu­rer.

Howe­ver, you are free to de­ci­de whe­ther you would pre­fer to use the uni­ver­si­ty e-mail ad­dress or your pri­va­te e-mail ad­dress, e.g. to com­mu­ni­ca­te with stu­dents.

How do I ac­cess my e-mail ad­dress?

Via the HfMDK Cloud: https://cloud.hfmdk-frank­furt.de

The­re you will find your mail­box, an in­ter­nal HfMDK e-mail con­tact list and other ser­vices.

Al­ter­na­tively, you can also ac­cess the mail­box with a mail pro­gram of your choice. Here are the ser­ver na­mes and ports you need to set it up:

How do I chan­ge my pass­word?

Plea­se note that you are chan­ging the pass­word for your who­le HfMDK ac­count. This me­ans that you will also need this new pass­word for WiFi, Cam­pus­WEB, mood­le, Asi­mut etc.

How se­cu­re is my e-mail ad­dress?

Your data is stored se­cu­re­ly on the uni­ver­si­ty­'s ser­vers and is pro­tec­ted by the same se­cu­ri­ty mea­su­res as all other HfMDK IT ser­vices.
