What is it about?

The De­part­ment of Uni­ver­si­ty Di­dac­tics deals with the plan­ning and de­sign of tea­ching and lear­ning pro­ces­ses at the Frank­furt Uni­ver­si­ty of Mu­sic and Per­forming Arts at the in­ter­face bet­ween tea­ching, cour­se de­ve­lop­ment and qua­li­ty as­suran­ce.

From tea­ching to lear­ning

As a cen­tral ser­vice point for uni­ver­si­ty di­dac­tics, ad­vice and per­so­nal de­ve­lop­ment, it sup­ports the chan­ge of per­spec­tive "from tea­ching to lear­ning" and "from lec­tu­rer to lear­ning fa­ci­li­ta­tor". Needs-ba­sed ser­vices such as (di­dac­tic) ad­vice, tea­ching re­flec­tion, su­per­vi­si­on, (peer) coa­ching and work­shops sup­port the de­epe­ning and up­dating of exis­ting skills and lifel­ong lear­ning.

Pro­fes­sio­na­li­za­ti­on and net­wor­king

With the ori­en­ta­ti­on towards cur­rent frame­work and lear­ning con­di­ti­ons and the in­clu­si­on of new tea­ching and lear­ning for­mats, all tea­chers at the HfMDK are gi­ven ac­cess to fur­ther pro­fes­sio­na­li­za­ti­on, in­for­ma­ti­on and net­wor­king wi­t­hin and out­si­de the uni­ver­si­ty.

In ad­di­ti­on, coope­ra­ti­ons and pro­jec­ts at Hes­si­an, na­tio­nal and in­ter­na­tio­nal le­vel of­fer a broad ex­chan­ge, par­ti­ci­pa­ti­on in fu­ture to­pics and the fur­ther de­ve­lop­ment of di­gi­tal tea­ching and lear­ning for­mats.

The HfMDK is a pro­ject part­ner in the Hes­se Di­gi­tal Uni­ver­si­ty Tea­ching Net­work, who­se di­ver­se of­fe­rings are open to all tea­ching staff.

In­ter­nal and ex­ter­nal con­sul­ting and coa­ching ser­vices are avail­ab­le for in­di­vi­du­al re­flec­tion, po­si­tio­ning and fur­ther pro­fes­sio­na­li­za­ti­on.

De­ve­lop­ment op­por­tu­nities for tea­ching, for lec­tu­rers - and for the uni­ver­si­ty

Uni­ver­si­ty di­dac­tics and tea­ching de­ve­lop­ment, as es­sen­ti­al com­pon­ents of uni­ver­si­ty de­ve­lop­ment, have a sustainab­le and ef­fec­tive im­pact on ar­tis­tic, pe­dago­gi­cal and aca­de­mic tea­ching, on per­so­nal (tea­ching) de­ve­lop­ment and on the over­all cul­tu­re of the uni­ver­si­ty.
