Presidium
The President, Prof. Elmar Fulda, represents the university externally and is the superior of the staff. His activities focus on the strategic development of the university, networking the university with politics and society and the new construction of the HfMDK. Within the Presidium, he is responsible for fundraising, press and communication, event management, anti-discrimination and inclusion. He is responsible for strategic personnel development in research and teaching.
Chancellor Kerstin Hort-Schelm is responsible for personnel and legal matters and manages the university's finances. She is responsible for construction and building management and is paving the university's way towards climate neutrality with the Sustainability department.
The full-time Vice President Brigitte Binder is Vice President for University Development and Digitalization. She drives university development (target agreements, management processes, organizational development) and the digitalization processes of the HfMDK.
Prof. Dr. Ulrich Kreppein has been teaching as Professor of Composition and Music Theory at the HfMDK since 2022 and is part of the course management of the cooperative study program with Ensemble Modern. As Vice President for Quality Development in Teaching and Research, he continues the conceptual development of the degree programs, is responsible for the main areas of evaluation and accreditation as well as strengthening research initiatives at the university and is a member of the HfMDK's Institute for Contemporary Music as a representative of the Presidential Board.
Prof. Tim Vogler is Vice President for Studies, Teaching and Artistic Projects. Together with the Student Services department, he is responsible for student management and the framework conditions for teaching and examinations as well as the operation of the Campus Management System. He also initiates and coordinates artistic projects. Tim Vogler has been Professor of String Chamber Music at the HfMDK since 2017.
