Ap­p­li­ca­ti­on for the Schu­mann Cham­ber Mu­sic Pri­ze 2025

The ap­p­li­ca­ti­on dead­line for the Schu­mann Cham­ber Mu­sic Pri­ze Frank­furt 2025 is No­vem­ber 1, 2024.

Cham­ber mu­sic en­sem­bles of all na­ti­ons are eli­gi­ble to par­ti­ci­pa­te in the pia­no trio ca­te­go­ry. The average age of the en­sem­ble mem­bers must not be ol­der than 32 ye­ars (dead­line 13.03.2025). No mem­ber of an en­sem­ble may have been born be­fo­re 13.03.1990. In ad­di­ti­on to mee­ting the for­mal re­qui­re­ments, a vi­deo pre-selec­tion will de­ter­mi­ne ad­mis­si­on to the se­cond round.

1. Round: Vi­deo with free choice of pro­gram from at least two epochs, du­ra­ti­on ap­prox. 45 mi­nu­tes
2. Round: The com­pul­so­ry work is a pia­no trio by Ro­bert Schu­mann or Jo­han­nes Brahms or Fe­lix Men­dels­sohn-Bar­thol­dy. In ad­di­ti­on, the pro­gram must con­tain free­ly cho­sen works from at least two epochs. The to­tal pro­gram may not be lon­ger than 75 mi­nu­tes.
3. Round: Fi­na­le in the Mo­zart Hall of the Alte Oper: free choice of pro­gram, du­ra­ti­on ap­prox. 45 mi­nu­tes.

In­di­vi­du­al mo­ve­ments are not per­mit­ted! Wi­t­hin the over­all pro­gram, one clas­si­cal work and one work pu­blished af­ter 1980 must be per­for­med.
