Important: All communi­cation is now only via the HfMDK email address

In June 2025, the uni­ver­si­ty swit­ched its of­fi­ci­al com­mu­ni­ca­ti­on chan­nel to uni­ver­si­ty email ad­dres­ses. Re-re­gis­tra­ti­on dead­lines, over­due no­ti­ces from the li­bra­ry, messa­ges from the ex­ami­na­ti­on of­fice—stu­dents now re­cei­ve all im­portant uni­ver­si­ty in­for­ma­ti­on quick­ly, re­li­ab­ly, and in one place wi­t­hout it get­ting mi­xed up with pri­va­te emails, be­ne­fi­t­ing from se­cu­re, GDPR-com­pli­ant com­mu­ni­ca­ti­on.

This ad­dress (for stu­dents, fol­lo­wing the pat­tern first­na­me.last­na­me@stu­dents.hfmdk-frank­furt.de, and for lec­tu­rers, fol­lo­wing the pat­tern first­na­me.last­na­me@lb.hfmdk-frank­furt.de) is also stored in the Asi­mut room boo­king sys­tem and in the Cam­pus Ma­nage­ment Sys­tem, which the Stu­dent Ser­vices De­part­ment uses to ma­na­ge stu­dent and lec­tu­rer data. In ad­di­ti­on, the HfMDK ac­count now also func­tions as a log­in for Cam­pus­WEB. Stu­dents and tea­chers are re­spon­si­ble for set­ting up their HfMDK mail­box, che­cking it re­gu­lar­ly, and using it for com­mu­ni­ca­ti­on with the uni­ver­si­ty.

Why this chan­ge?

Stan­dar­di­zed com­mu­ni­ca­ti­on chan­nels via the uni­ver­si­ty­'s own email ad­dres­ses si­gni­fi­cant­ly in­crea­se IT se­cu­ri­ty and data pro­tec­tion. The HfMDK email ad­dres­ses are in­te­gra­ted into a cen­tral­ly ma­na­ged, se­cu­re in­fra­st­ruc­tu­re that pro­tec­ts against un­aut­ho­ri­zed ac­cess, en­crypts data trans­mis­si­on, and com­plies with cur­rent se­cu­ri­ty stan­dards.
