Zih-En Wei

Vio­lon­cel­list Zih-En Wei was born in 1997 in Taoyuan, Tai­wan. He gra­dua­ted from Tai­chung Se­cond Se­ni­or High School. He is cur­r­ent­ly stu­dy­ing in mas­ter of mu­sic vio­lon­cel­lo at Hoch­schu­le für Mu­sik und Dar­stel­len­de Kunst Frank­furt un­der Prof. Mi­cha­el San­der­ling. He was stu­dy­ing be­fo­re in R. Schu­mann Hoch­schu­le Düs­sel­dorf un­der Prof.  Pie­ter Wis­pel­wey and Eco­le Nor­ma­le de Mu­si­que de Pa­ris working with cel­list Ans­si Kart­tu­nen and Hen­ri De­mar­quet­te. He par­ti­ci­pa­ted Mas­ter­clas­ses working with several cel­lists such as Wen-Sinn Yang, Gary Hoff­man, Ma­ri­on Feld­man.

Zih-En was awar­ded the Di­plô­me Su­pé­ri­eur d’Exé­cu­ti­on avec Un­ani­mité et les Fé­li­ci­ta­ti­ons du jury (Di­plo­ma su­pe­ri­or of Per­for­mance with Un­ani­mously ad­op­ti­on and congra­tu­la­ti­ons) with full scho­l­ar­ship at Eco­le Nor­ma­le de Mu­si­que de Pa­ris.

 

He was Selec­ted and awar­ded the 1st. New Tai­pei City "Mu­sic Star" The Grand pri­ze­win­ner of Tai­pei Sym­pho­ny Or­ches­tra “The Young ta­lent” con­cer­to com­pe­ti­ti­on and Tai­chung Se­cond Se­ni­or High School con­cer­to com­pe­ti­ti­on. First pri­ze of Tai­wan na­tio­nal mu­sic com­pe­ti­ti­on. Zih-En has pre­vious­ly ap­peared as a guest so­loist with Tai­pei Sym­pho­ny Or­ches­tra and Tai­chung Se­cond Se­ni­or High School Sym­pho­ny Or­ches­tra. He held his de­but cel­lo re­ci­tal in Tai­wan in 2015. He was also in­vi­ted by New Tai­pei City Cul­tu­ral Af­fairs De­part­ment for a cel­lo re­ci­tal in 2016. He gave a con­cert Midi & Demi at Salle Cor­tot of Eco­le Nor­ma­le de Mu­si­que de Pa­ris in De­cem­ber 2016. He was awar­ded a scho­l­ar­ship from In­ter­na­tio­nal Pa­cing Art Cul­tu­re Edu­ca­ti­on Foun­da­ti­on in 2017 and have a con­cert in Tai­wan in 2018.He par­ti­ci­pa­ted the mas­ter­class Cel­lo Aka­de­mie Ru­tes­heim working with Cel­list Wen-Sinn Yang in Ger­ma­ny, 2018. He was in­vi­ted by Cent­re de Chosta­ko­vich for a con­cert in Pa­ris 2019
