Ap­p­li­ca­ti­on

You can ap­p­ly using the ap­p­li­ca­ti­on form at the bot­tom of this web­site. Ever­yo­ne wis­hing to par­ti­ci­pa­te must au­di­tion for the pro­ject. An ex­emp­ti­on from the au­di­tion can be re­quested (see ap­p­li­ca­ti­on form).

Ap­p­li­ca­ti­on dead­line: De­cem­ber 8, 2025

 

For ap­p­li­cants from Frank­furt, the Rhi­ne-Main area and the sur­roun­ding fe­deral sta­tes:

  • Au­di­tion: Fe­bru­a­ry 8, 2026, in­di­vi­du­al time slot in a small group (ap­prox. 20-30 mi­nu­tes) bet­ween 10 a.m. and 6 p.m
  • The 1st mo­ve­ment of the Ger­man Re­qui­em by Brahms must be pre­pa­red for the in-per­son au­di­tion (sheet mu­sic for down­load fol­lows). The au­di­tion will take place in a small group of about five peop­le from your own voice group.

For ap­p­li­cants from other Eu­ropean coun­tries and out­si­de Frank­furt, Rhi­ne-Main and the sur­roun­ding fe­deral sta­tes:

  • Un­til Fe­bru­a­ry 15, 2026: Sub­mis­si­on of a vi­deo re­cord­ing. You will re­cei­ve more de­tail­ed in­for­ma­ti­on af­ter your writ­ten ap­p­li­ca­ti­on.
  • For the on­line au­di­tion, plea­se sub­mit a vi­deo of an ex­cerpt of the fu­gue from the 3rd mo­ve­ment of the Ger­man Re­qui­em:
    • So­pra­no: mea­su­res 178-187 (up to and in­clu­ding "...rüh­ret sie an")
    • Alto: mea­su­res 175-183 (up to the break)
    • Te­nor: mea­su­res 173-180 (up to the in­ter­val)
    • Bass: mea­su­res 180-189 (up to and in­clu­ding "...are in Go­d's hands")

You will be no­ti­fied by e-mail on Fe­bru­a­ry 23, 2026, if you have been selec­ted to sing in the choir.

    • Sunday, April 26, 2026: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. (En­thu­si­ast Choir plus uni­ver­si­ty choir)
  • Fi­nal rehe­ar­sals and con­cert
    • Thurs­day, May 14, 2026 (As­cen­si­on Day): 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. (En­thu­si­ast Choir plus uni­ver­si­ty choir)
    • Fri­day, May 15, 2026: 4 to 7 p.m. tut­ti rehe­ar­sal, 8 to 10 p.m. dress rehe­ar­sal
    • Sa­tur­day, May 16, 2026: 4 to 5.30 p.m. rehe­ar­sal, 7 p.m. con­cert

Sheet mu­sic

Plea­se bring your own sheet mu­sic of the Brahms Re­qui­em to all rehe­ar­sals. For new purcha­ses, sheet mu­sic (pia­no re­duc­tion) from Ca­rus-Ver­lag, CV 27.055/03, is re­com­men­ded. Other and ol­der edi­ti­ons (Pe­ters, Breit­kopf etc.) are com­pa­ti­ble and may be used as long as they have bar num­bers.
