By March 2017, all 5th ge­nera­ti­on stu­dents sub­mit­ted their mas­ter's the­sis. Congra­tu­la­ti­ons and we look for­ward to an ex­ci­ting read.

 

Re­sour­ces LAB Dance Tech­ni­ques 2010, Fe­bru­a­ry 13-15, 2017

In pre­pa­ra­ti­on for the up­co­m­ing sum­mer se­mes­ter, a three-day Re­sour­ces LAB onDance Techniques 2010 will take place. Edi­ted by Prof. Ingo Diehl, the pu­bli­ca­ti­on will de­scri­be and ex­p­lain va­rious dance tech­ni­ques. The re­cur­ring for­mat of the Re­sour­ces LAB is an in­te­gral part of the cur­ri­cu­lum.

 

An­drea Keiz vi­deo do­cu­men­ta­ti­on, No­vem­ber 2016 - Fe­bru­a­ry 2017

To ce­le­bra­te the 10th an­ni­ver­s­a­ry of MA CoDE, 6th ge­nera­ti­on stu­dents are working with vi­deo ar­tist An­drea Keiz to de­ve­lop a cour­se trai­ler. For this pur­po­se, in­ter­views with lec­tu­rers and alum­ni will be con­duc­ted and eva­lua­ted. The re­lease of the trai­ler is plan­ned for the be­gin­ning of the sum­mer se­mes­ter 2017.

The stu­dents of the 5th ge­nera­ti­on pre­sent their re­spec­tive fi­nal the­sis to­pic and give an in­sight into their cur­rent sta­te of re­se­arch.

 

16. Ja­pan De­le­ga­ti­on, Ja­nu­a­ry 2017

Or­ga­ni­zed by the Ger­man Dance As­so­cia­ti­on, uni­ver­si­ty pro­fes­sors and dance pro­fes­sio­nals from Ja­pan meet with the Dean Prof. Ingo Diehl and Su­san­ne Trie­bel as well as other re­p­re­sen­ta­ti­ves of the trai­ning area ZuKT to ex­chan­ge in­for­ma­ti­on about lo­cal trai­ning struc­tures and trai­ning con­cepts.

 

Alta­na Tas­ter Days, 12 Ja­nu­a­ry 2017

Tog­e­ther with the dan­cers of the Dres­den Frank­furt Dance Com­pa­ny and the Core Team, our stu­dents will be hol­ding three tas­ter days with the en­t­i­re Year 8 class of the IGS Nor­dend bet­ween 12 Ja­nu­a­ry and 26 Ja­nu­a­ry 2017. The tas­ter days are spon­so­red by the ALTA­NA Kul­tur­stif­tung.

Ber­lin Ex­cur­si­on, 15 - 18 De­cem­ber 2016

In De­cem­ber, the 6th MA CoDE Ge­nera­ti­on will tra­vel to Ber­lin for their first field trip. With a the­ma­tic fo­cus on dance he­ri­ta­ge, they will vi­sit the per­for­mancePa­ler­mo Pa­ler­mo by Pina Bausch as well as the cur­rent ex­hi­bi­ti­on at the Mar­tin-Gro­pi­us-Bau. In ad­di­ti­on to on-site pro­fes­sio­nal ex­chan­ge, they will get a chan­ce to see the re­vi­val of Sa­scha Walt­z's pro­duc­tionAl­lee der Kos­mo­nau­ten.

 

Sub­mis­si­on of the Mas­ter The­sis To­pics, No­vem­ber 15, 2016

Af­ter com­ple­ting their fi­nal exam tea­ching rehe­ar­sals con­duc­ted with BA­tanz stu­dents, the 5th ge­nera­ti­on has sub­mit­ted their mas­ter's the­sis to­pics. We are kee­ping our fin­gers crossed for fur­ther re­se­arch and com­ple­ti­on.

 

Vi­deo do­cu­men­ta­ry with An­drea Keiz, No­vem­ber 14, 2016

An­drea Keiz has be­gun her work with the 6th ge­nera­ti­on on the to­pic of vi­deo do­cu­men­ta­ti­on. In the co­m­ing mon­ths, stu­dents will work with her to de­ve­lop a cour­se trai­ler.

Flo­rence Co­rin and Bap­tis­te An­dri­en of Cont­re­dan­se pre­sen­ted their la­test re­se­arch and do­cu­men­ta­ti­on fin­dings on Lisa Nel­son at the TAB5 sym­po­si­um.

 

Ac­credi­ta­ti­on, No­vem­ber 7-8, 2016

Af­ter a year-long self-eva­lua­ti­on pro­cess of dance de­gree pro­grams, the walk-through by in­ter­na­tio­nal peer re­view­ers took place in No­vem­ber. The ac­credi­ta­ti­on pro­cess in­vi­ted many ex­ci­ting and chal­len­ging dis­cus­sions. Re­sults are ex­pec­ted in 2017.

Start of se­mes­ter, Oc­to­ber 20, 2016

The MA CoDE win­ter se­mes­ter is about to be­gin. It is the first se­mes­ter of the new and 6th ge­nera­ti­on stu­dents as well as the last se­mes­ter of the cur­rent 5th ge­nera­ti­on who will be fo­cu­sing on the fi­nal pha­se of their MA the­ses.
