Resources LAB Dance Techniques 2010, February 13-15, 2017

In preparation for the upcoming summer semester, a three-day Resources LAB onDance Techniques 2010 will take place. Edited by Prof. Ingo Diehl, the publication will describe and explain various dance techniques. The recurring format of the Resources LAB is an integral part of the curriculum.

 

Andrea Keiz video documentation, November 2016 - February 2017

To celebrate the 10th anniversary of MA CoDE, 6th generation students are working with video artist Andrea Keiz to develop a course trailer. For this purpose, interviews with lecturers and alumni will be conducted and evaluated. The release of the trailer is planned for the beginning of the summer semester 2017.

 

Presentation of Master's theses G5, 23 January 2017

The students of the 5th generation present their respective final thesis topic and give an insight into their current state of research.

 

16. Japan Delegation, January 2017

Organized by the German Dance Association, university professors and dance professionals from Japan meet with the Dean Prof. Ingo Diehl and Susanne Triebel as well as other representatives of the training area ZuKT to exchange information about local training structures and training concepts.

 

Altana Taster Days, 12 January 2017

Together with the dancers of the Dresden Frankfurt Dance Company and the Core Team, our students will be holding three taster days with the entire Year 8 class of the IGS Nordend between 12 January and 26 January 2017. The taster days are sponsored by the ALTANA Kulturstiftung.

Berlin Excursion, 15 - 18 December 2016

In December, the 6th MA CoDE Generation will travel to Berlin for their first field trip. With a thematic focus on dance heritage, they will visit the performancePalermo Palermo by Pina Bausch as well as the current exhibition at the Martin-Gropius-Bau. In addition to on-site professional exchange, they will get a chance to see the revival of Sascha Waltz's productionAllee der Kosmonauten.

 

Submission of the Master Thesis Topics, November 15, 2016

After completing their final exam teaching rehearsals conducted with BAtanz students, the 5th generation has submitted their master's thesis topics. We are keeping our fingers crossed for further research and completion.

 

Video documentary with Andrea Keiz, November 14, 2016

Andrea Keiz has begun her work with the 6th generation on the topic of video documentation. In the coming months, students will work with her to develop a course trailer.

 

TAB5, November 11-12, 2016

Florence Corin and Baptiste Andrien of Contredanse presented their latest research and documentation findings on Lisa Nelson at the TAB5 symposium.

 

Accreditation, November 7-8, 2016

After a year-long self-evaluation process of dance degree programs, the walk-through by international peer reviewers took place in November. The accreditation process invited many exciting and challenging discussions. Results are expected in 2017.

 

German National Academic Foundation Scholarship, October 2016

Start of semester, October 20, 2016

The MA CoDE winter semester is about to begin. It is the first semester of the new and 6th generation students as well as the last semester of the current 5th generation who will be focusing on the final phase of their MA theses.
