Prof. Ingo Diehl and Prof. Kat­ja Schnei­der will tra­vel to Zu­rich for the sym­po­si­um "Sens(e)ati­on" of the Ge­sell­schaft für Tanz­for­schung at the Zhdk.

 

In­ter­na­tio­nal Stu­dent Cam­pus on 20th Cen­tu­ry Dance He­ri­ta­ge, Au­gust 26 - Sep­tem­ber 2, 2019

Prof. Ingo Diehl de­ve­lo­ped and di­rec­ts the In­ter­na­tio­nal Stu­dent Cam­pus on 20th Cen­tu­ry Dance He­ri­ta­ge for the Aka­de­mie der Küns­te Ber­lin. Prof. Kat­ja Schnei­der will par­ti­ci­pa­te in a con­ver­sa­ti­on on ma­ni­fest­os in dance.

 

Hol­lins Eu­ropean Sum­mer School, July 15-20, 2019

The Hol­lins Eu­ropean Sum­mer School will take place in Ber­lin for the first time this year. The Ame­ri­can mas­ter's pro­gram hosts an an­nu­al re­si­den­cy pro­gram in coope­ra­ti­on with MA CoDE. In the top-class pro­gram with trai­nings, se­mi­nars and per­for­man­ces, in­ter­na­tio­nal ar­tists and scho­l­ars sha­re their po­si­ti­ons.

 

Pu­blic Cul­tu­ral Com­mit­tee Mee­ting City of Frank­furt, June 13, 2019

Prof. Ingo Diehl was in­vi­ted as speaker for the pu­blic mee­ting of the Cul­tu­ral Com­mit­tee of the City of Frank­furt on the to­pic of dance at the Mou­son­turm.

 

HTA/LAB Post­gra­dua­te Fun­ding, June 12, 2019

Su­san­ne Trie­bel was a jury mem­ber of the HTA/LAB post­gra­dua­te fun­ding and a jury mem­ber of the com­mis­si­on for the qua­li­fy­ing ex­ami­na­ti­on for the MA CuP at the Uni­ver­si­ty of Gies­sen.

 

Tea­ching in De­part­ment 2, May 15 - July 3, 2019

MA CoDE stu­dents teach the mo­du­le Mu­sic and Other Forms of Per­for­mance to L1 stu­dents in FB2. Con­tem­pora­ry cho­reo­gra­phic ma­nu­scripts will be phy­si­cal­ly tested and im­pul­ses for in­te­gra­ti­on into tea­ching ap­proa­ches of the par­ti­ci­pants* will be gi­ven.

 

Men­to­ring Pro­gram Pre­sen­ta­ti­on, July 4, 2019

The men­to­ring pro­gram will in­clu­de several hours of one-on-one mee­tings with the out­si­de ex­perts throughout the se­mes­ter. At the end of the se­mes­ter, the pro­cess will be con­clu­ded with an ex­chan­ge and fi­nal pre­sen­ta­ti­on.

 

Au­di­tion in Frank­furt am Main, 14 and 15 June 2019

The se­cond and fi­nal au­di­tion for the ad­mis­si­on of Ge­nera­ti­on 8 of the MA CoDE will take place in Frank­furt am Main.

 

Dance Con­gress Hel­lerau Dres­den, 5 - 10 June 2019

Un­der the tit­le "A long las­ting af­fair", the Fe­deral Cul­tu­ral Foun­da­ti­on in­vi­tes dance pro­fes­sio­nals to Hel­lerau near Dres­den again this year. Un­der the ar­tis­tic di­rec­tion of Meg Stuart, the stu­dents will dis­cuss and de­ve­lop goals tog­e­ther in ques­ti­ons around star­ting a ca­re­er as well as in con­ver­sa­ti­on with ac­tors in the field of work.

Prof. Ingo Diehl is a mem­ber of the ad­vi­so­ry board for the "Ger­man Dance Con­gress", an in­itia­ti­ve of the Fe­deral Cul­tu­ral Foun­da­ti­on, which ta­kes place every three ye­ars.

Prof. Ingo Diehl mo­de­ra­ted va­rious working groups at the sym­po­si­um of the Fe­deral As­so­cia­ti­on of In­de­pen­dent Per­forming Arts in Ber­lin on the to­pic of trai­ning.

 

Ex­cur­si­on to Stral­sund, May 20 - 24, 2019

As a con­ti­nua­ti­on to the ex­chan­ge at Schloss Bröllin, stu­dents in Stral­sund will have the op­por­tu­ni­ty to ap­p­ly the trai­ning ap­proa­ches they have de­ve­lo­ped in the con­text of tea­ching with va­rious tar­get groups in the school sec­tor.

At the re­si­dence cent­re for con­tem­pora­ry dance ma­kers in Meck­len­burg-Vor­pom­mern, stu­dents will have the op­por­tu­ni­ty to ex­chan­ge ide­as with tea­chers and ar­tists about pos­si­ble sub­ject cur­ri­cu­la in the field of dance and school.

 

DANCE Fes­ti­val for con­tem­pora­ry dance, May 16 - 26, 2019

Prof. Kat­ja Schnei­der was dra­ma­tur­ge at DANCE, the in­ter­na­tio­nal fes­ti­val for con­tem­pora­ry dance in Mu­nich.

 

Se­mi­nar Dance Po­li­tics, May 14. - June 13, 2019

Tog­e­ther with Prof. Ingo Diehl, stu­dents de­ve­lop the­ma­tic fo­cu­ses on the to­pic of dance po­li­tics using na­tio­nal and in­ter­na­tio­nal examp­les. The se­mi­nar will con­clu­de with an ex­cur­si­on to Ber­lin and mee­tings with va­rious in­sti­tu­ti­ons and pro­fes­sio­nal as­so­cia­ti­ons.

 

Pre­pa­ra­to­ry mee­ting for the Dance Edu­ca­ti­on Bi­en­ni­al 2020, 10 - 12 and 17 May 2019

Su­san­ne Trie­bel is in­vol­ved in the pre­pa­ra­ti­ons for the Bi­en­na­le Dance Edu­ca­ti­on 2020 in Ham­burg as a mem­ber of the speaker group of the Edu­ca­ti­on Con­fe­rence (AKT).

 

Foun­da­ti­on of the in­ter­na­tio­nal working group, May 9 - 11, 2019

Prof. Ingo Diehl tog­e­ther with Jen­ny Ro­che (Uni­ver­si­ty of Li­me­rick/Ire­land) and Ca­ro­li­ne Rib­bers (Fon­tys Ho­ge­school voor de Küns­ten/Ne­ther­lands) foun­ded an in­ter­na­tio­nal working group on the to­pic: "Lear­ning en­vi­ron­ments in dance edu­ca­ti­on". The ex­chan­ge was fun­ded by ERAS­MUS.

 

Pre­pa­ra­to­ry se­mi­nar for the dance con­gress, 10-11 May 2019

Dr. Eike Witt­rock, co-cu­ra­tor of this ye­ar's Dance Con­gress in Hel­lerau near Dres­den, will give the stu­dents an in­tro­duc­tion to ad­dress the cur­rent pro­fes­sio­nal dis­cour­se in ad­van­ce in the cour­se. Fi­nal­ly, the­re will be a joint vi­sit to the event.

 

Se­mi­nar with Prof. Han­nah Shat­ki Büh­ler, May 8 - June 1, 2019

Tog­e­ther with stu­dents of the MA CoDE, Prof. Ingo Diehl and Prof. Han­nah Shak­ti Büh­ler, new ade­qua­te tes­ting cri­te­ria for con­tem­pora­ry dance tea­ching will be de­ve­lo­ped. The re­sults will be eva­lua­ted in con­cre­te tes­tings with Ba­che­lor stu­dents.

 

Work­shop for the in­de­pen­dent con­tem­pora­ry sce­ne in Gdansk, May 5, 2019

Stu­dents will give prac­ti­cal in­sights into dif­fe­rent hy­brid and con­tem­pora­ry trai­ning ap­proa­ches in dance in a work­shop. The selec­ted prac­tices will be ba­sed on cur­rent ar­tists, tech­ni­ques or pu­blished cho­reo­gra­phic pro­ces­ses in­clu­ding Meg Stuart, De­bo­rah Hay, Se­bas­ti­an Mat­thi­as and others.

 

Au­di­tion in Gdansk, May 3 and 4, 2019

For the first time, MA CoDE is hos­ting one of its in­ter­na­tio­nal au­di­tions in Gdansk, Po­land. In col­la­bo­ra­ti­on with MA CoDE alum­na Ka­sia Utow­s­ka, this will take place at Klub Zak, one of the ol­dest stu­dent clubs in Po­land.

 

New Mu­sic Night "Si­lent Post", April 30, 2019

As a con­tri­bu­ti­on, stu­dents will in­ter­act with fa­cul­ty and stu­dents from the Di­rec­ting and Ar­tis­tic In­stru­men­tal Flu­te pro­grams for an in­ter­di­sci­pli­na­ry pro­ject.

 

KIT Work­shop Clai­re Cun­ning­ham & Jess Cur­tis, April 26-28, 2019

In a work­shop for­mat, Clai­re Cun­ning­ham and Jess Cur­tis ex­pe­ri­ment with dif­fe­rent ways of per­cei­ving and see­ing gen­der, body, age, ori­gin, and re­fe­rence their col­la­bo­ra­ti­ve work "The Way You Look (at me) To­n­ight". They ques­ti­on ha­bits and customs of how we see the world and each other.

 

New pro­fes­sor­ship in dance theo­ry

Dr. Kat­ja Schnei­der will be­co­me pro­fes­sor for dance theo­ry in the dance cour­ses (BA­tanz, MA CoDE) and fur­ther mas­ter cour­ses at the HfMDK in sum­mer se­mes­ter 19.

 

In­ter­tanz Work­shop, 11 - 13 April 2019

Com­ple­men­ting the to­pic "The fuz­zy mess of the Com­post and Spi­rit: Epis­te­mo­lo­gy of dan­cing bo­dies" by Prof. Bo­ja­na Kunst and "Im­pos­si­ble Prac­tice " by Ca­ro­li­na Mendor­ca in WS 18/19, Spa­nish ar­tist Paz Rojo leads a 3-day work­shop. In­ter­tanz ta­kes place for the se­cond time at the HfMDK and is a coope­ra­ti­on pro­ject of the Hes­si­an dance cour­ses.

 

Se­mes­ter start, April 8, 2019

The 7th ge­nera­ti­on stu­dents be­gin their third se­mes­ter with in­di­vi­du­al les­sons they de­ve­lo­ped ba­sed on ma­te­ri­als from si­gni­fi­cant ar­tis­tic fi­gu­res.
