BAföG & Financing Counseling of the Student Union

BAföG

BAföG

All students should have the opportunity to pursue their desired education and training, even if the financial means to do so are not sufficient. Therefore, the Federal Republic of Germany supports students and trainees with financial benefits under the Federal Training Assistance Act BAföG.

BAföG is the cheapest way to finance your studies. Whether with a part-time job, a second degree or studying with a child - even a small BAföG amount is worthwhile, for example, to be exempt from GEZ fees.

BAföG benefits are granted half as a subsidy and the other half as an interest-free loan - you therefore only have to pay back half of the money received after the end of your studies (i.e. a maximum of €10,010).

Where can I find information and advice?
