The main ro­les of Ta­das Al­man­tas are per­for­mer, cho­reo­gra­pher, dance filmma­ker and dance tea­cher.

Ori­gi­nal­ly from Kau­nas, Lit­hua­nia, Ta­das Al­man­tas had an op­por­tu­ni­ty to train in con­tem­pora­ry dance tech­ni­ques with the “AURA dance thea­t­re” un­der Bi­ru­te Le­tu­kaitė.

Si­mul­ta­ne­ous­ly Ta­das star­ted trai­ning bal­let tech­ni­que with Doc. Alek­san­dras Jan­k­aus­kas, the bal­let mas­ter and di­rec­tor of the Kau­nas Sta­te Mu­si­cal Thea­tre. Lear­ning  from tra­di­ti­on as­sisted with buil­ding a strong ba­sis for fur­ther ar­tis­tic growth.

Ta­das Al­man­tas gra­dua­ted from the Na­tio­nal M. K. Či­ur­lio­nis School of Art in 2017 in the mo­dern dance sec­tor un­der Lina Puo­dži­ukaitė.

Ta­das stu­di­ed at Codarts Rot­ter­dam: Uni­ver­si­ty of the Arts Ba­che­lor Dance, yet fi­nis­hed BA­d­ance at the Frank­furt Uni­ver­si­ty of Mu­sic and Per­forming Arts in 2023. Now is fur­ther stu­dy­ing in the MA­Code pro­gram­me sin­ce 2023. 

He did an in­ternship with the Bu­da­pest Dance Thea­ter Stu­dio un­der Béla Föl­di and the Dres­den Frank­furt Dance Com­pa­ny un­der Ja­co­po Go­da­ni. Ta­das Al­man­tas col­la­bo­ra­ted with Jo­han­nes Wie­land at the b12 fes­ti­val and Ar­tūras Arei­ma thea­t­re in Lit­hua­nia du­ring his time in Ger­ma­ny, which worked as an op­por­tu­ni­ty to learn from the ar­tists in the working field.

Hea­vi­ly in­flu­en­ced by the vi­su­al ae­s­the­tics of Stan­ley Ku­brick and An­d­rey Tar­kovs­ky and the ar­chi­tec­tu­ral de­pic­tion of the body by Ru­dolf La­ban, Ta­das Al­man­tas looks for op­por­tu­nities to crea­te his own work. Ha­ving laun­ched an on­line plat­form “Ex­pe­ri­men­tal Thea­ter of Ta­das A” that func­tions as an on­line dance thea­t­re, Ta­das ad­mi­res ar­tis­tic vir­tuo­si­ty in clas­si­cal mo­ve­ment and su­per­fluous know­ledge in the craft of crea­ting ae­s­the­tics in no­wa­days con­text. 

Ta­das aims at crea­ting his own ar­tis­tic work as well as col­la­bo­ra­ting with ar­tists in­ter­na­tio­nal­ly.
