Elena Evgenievna Pogorelova
Elena is a contemporary dance artist and a researcher. Her movement history includes sports (rhythmic gymnastics), ballet, folk, variety, ballroom, character dance, jazz, and contemporary dance. She graduated from Vaganova Ballet Academy, Saint Petersburg (BA in The Art of Choreography, 2016-2020) and Liberal Arts and Sciences department (Smolny College) of St. Petersburg University (MA in Musical Criticism program, 2020-2022). Her contemporary dance teachers were Tatiana Gordeeva (somatics), Alexander Lubashin (release), Maria Dudina (dance studies), Tatiana Tarabanova (inspired by Flying Low), Maya Selezneva (inspired by Gaga) and the co-curators of Sdvig Performance Art Studio. Also she studied human sciences, arts, music, and dance theory. Since 2022 she has collaborated with magazines (Nozh, Thesis, On Air) and institutions (The Bolshoi Theater) as an author. Elena is enrolled in the MA CoDE since April 2023.
