Star­ting a ca­re­er with TheO

The Mas­ter's pro­gram­me in Thea­t­re and Or­ches­tra Ma­nage­ment is cha­rac­te­ri­sed by its di­ver­si­ty, al­lo­wing each stu­dent to pur­sue their in­di­vi­du­al strengths and in­te­rests.

90% of the gra­dua­tes of the 2010-2015 co­hort have al­rea­dy found em­ploy­ment in the thea­t­re, or­che­s­tras, the in­de­pen­dent sce­ne or the wi­der cul­tu­ral sec­tor im­me­dia­te­ly af­ter com­ple­ting their stu­dies. 
Most of them en­ter po­si­ti­ons with a high re­spon­si­bi­li­ty im­me­dia­te­ly af­ter gra­dua­ti­on. At the la­test three ye­ars af­ter gra­dua­ti­on about 50% of the gra­dua­tes al­rea­dy re­ach a first ma­nage­ment po­si­ti­on.

Many of the gra­dua­tes of the youn­ger clas­ses of 2010-2015 are al­rea­dy or­ches­tra di­rec­tors and ma­na­gers, ma­na­gers of pro­duc­tion houses, di­rec­tors of ar­tis­tic ma­nage­ment of­fices and se­ni­or staff of ar­tis­tic ma­nage­ment of­fices, heads of de­part­ments or pro­duc­tion ma­na­gers of fes­ti­vals, ma­na­gers of in­de­pen­dent en­sem­bles in dance, mu­sic or dra­ma or re­spon­si­ble edi­tors of mu­sic pro­gram­mes in ra­dio.

In ac­cordance with the ob­jec­tives of the Hes­si­an Thea­t­re Aca­de­my, the stu­dents will be qua­li­fied to work in the fol­lo­wing func­tions and in­sti­tu­ti­ons af­ter com­ple­ting the Mas­ter's pro­gram­me:

  • Ma­nage­ment tasks in the field of a sin­gle or mul­ti-branch thea­t­re, such as de­pu­ty ar­tis­tic di­rec­tor, ma­na­ging di­rec­tor, ope­ra­ti­ons di­rec­tor, ar­tis­tic di­rec­tor
  • Or­ches­tra di­rec­tion or or­ches­tra ma­nage­ment
  • Pro­gram­me ma­nage­ment mu­sic and thea­t­re fes­ti­vals
  • Pro­duc­tion ma­nage­ment of fes­ti­vals, or­che­s­tras and con­cert halls
  • Lead/co-lead mar­ke­ting and sa­les at thea­tres, or­che­s­tras, etc.
  • Head of Pu­blic Re­la­ti­ons and Com­mu­ni­ca­ti­on
  • Head of the are­as vi­si­tor ma­nage­ment and de­ve­lop­ment
  • Head of Fund­rai­sing and Spon­sor­ship
