With the aim of becoming a soloist in the international concert scene for the violin, viola or violoncello, the degree program trains a small number of highly talented musicians to become distinctive artistic personalities who can make an important contribution to the current discourse on the works of their instrument. They are authoritative representatives of their instrument within their generation, possess an individual and unmistakable expressive ability and act as important ambassadors of classical music and contemporary artistic creation. They are aware of their responsibility to society, the preservation of musical heritage and the shaping of contemporary trends. In ensembles, they can contribute their skills in an inspiring way for fellow players and audiences, adapt their role appropriately and variably and convey it in an exemplary manner. Graduates have deepened, expanded or specified their individual artistic profile through the elective area.

Successful completion of the degree program qualifies students to work as soloists in the international concert business for the violin, viola or cello and also for leading roles in a cultural context.
