Sofia Bonilla Perez

Born on the 20.03.2004 in Bogota D.C.
Sofia Bonilla Perez (2004) is a versatile dancer who received her first
dance training in Bogota. There she studied classical ballet and
contemporary dance as well as jazz at En Avant Escuela and enriched her
studies at internships with the Fernando Alonso National School in Cuba
and the ABT in the USA. Later she started her bachelor dance studies at
the Frankfurt University of Music and Performing Arts in 2021, where she
studied ballet, contemporary and improvisation techniques with Nora
Kimball, Andrea Tallis, Isaac Spencer, Damian Gmür, Dieter Heitkamp,
Thierry Guiderdoni and Fabrice Mazliaha.
She has performed in creations by choreographers such as Sade
Mamedova, Kristel van Issum, Rena Butler, Olga Dukhovnaya and Ioannis
Mandafounis, Yossi Berg & Oded Graf as well as projects created by other students of the program.
The artist has also participated in various improvisation and self-creation
projects in different locations (site-specific) and has had the opportunity
to explore choreographic challenges. In her artistic work the native
Colombian always enjoys movement, technical precision, musicality,
expression and creativity, showing great interest and a lively curiosity
about interdisciplinary projects.
