Sofia Bonilla Perez

So­fia Bo­nil­la Pe­rez (2004) is a ver­sa­ti­le dan­cer who re­cei­ved her first
dance trai­ning in Bo­go­ta. The­re she stu­di­ed clas­si­cal bal­let and
con­tem­pora­ry dance as well as jazz at En Avant Es­cue­la and en­ri­ched her
stu­dies at in­ternships with the Fer­nan­do Alon­so Na­tio­nal School in Cuba
and the ABT in the USA. La­ter she star­ted her ba­che­lor dance stu­dies at
the Frank­furt Uni­ver­si­ty of Mu­sic and Per­forming Arts in 2021, whe­re she
stu­di­ed bal­let, con­tem­pora­ry and im­pro­vi­sa­ti­on tech­ni­ques with Nora
Kim­ball, An­drea Tal­lis, Isaac Spen­cer, Da­mi­an Gmür, Die­ter Heit­kamp,
Thier­ry Gui­der­do­ni and Fa­bri­ce Maz­liaha.
She has per­for­med in crea­ti­ons by cho­reo­graph­ers such as Sade
Ma­me­do­va, Kris­tel van Issum, Rena But­ler, Olga Duk­hov­na­ya and Io­an­nis
Man­da­fou­nis,  Yos­si Berg & Oded Graf as well as pro­jec­ts crea­ted by other stu­dents of the pro­gram.
The ar­tist has also par­ti­ci­pa­ted in va­rious im­pro­vi­sa­ti­on and self-crea­ti­on
pro­jec­ts in dif­fe­rent lo­ca­ti­ons (site-spe­ci­fic) and has had the op­por­tu­ni­ty
to ex­plo­re cho­reo­gra­phic chal­len­ges. In her ar­tis­tic work the na­ti­ve
Co­lom­bi­an al­ways en­joys mo­ve­ment, tech­ni­cal pre­cisi­on, mu­si­ca­li­ty,
ex­pres­si­on and crea­ti­vi­ty, sho­wing gre­at in­te­rest and a li­vely cu­rio­si­ty
about in­ter­di­sci­pli­na­ry pro­jec­ts.
