The Trou­vail­le Trio was foun­ded in ear­ly 2024 af­ter its mem­bers had pre­vious­ly got to know each other in other cham­ber mu­sic con­texts. In­do­ne­si­an pia­nist Vic­to­ria Sa­ras­va­thi and Po­lish vio­li­nist Se­bas­ti­an No­wak have for­med the Sa­ras­va­thi-No­wak duo in 2019. They have per­for­med in many Eu­ropean and Asi­an coun­tries and have won nu­me­rous pri­zes, such as first place at the Co­si­ma Wag­ner In­ter­na­tio­nal Cham­ber Mu­sic Com­pe­ti­ti­on in Bel­lagio, Ita­ly.

The Ger­man-Ame­ri­can cel­list Ti­mo­thy Hop­kins and Vic­to­ria Sa­ras­va­thi have been working tog­e­ther on va­rious pro­jec­ts sin­ce 2012. For examp­le, the two were in­vi­ted to take part in the re­cord­ings for "Sal­tarel­lo - Ex­cep­tio­nal Ta­lents in the Broad­cas­ting Hall" in Bre­men and were re­cent­ly in­vol­ved in a per­for­mance of Beet­ho­ven's Trip­le Con­cer­to with the Göt­tin­gen Sym­pho­ny Or­ches­tra.

Fi­nal­ly, the three mu­si­ci­ans came tog­e­ther as the Trou­vail­le Trio. They are led by Prof. An­ge­li­ka Merk­le, with whom the Sa­ras­va­thi-No­wak duo is stu­dy­ing cham­ber mu­sic at the HfMDK Frank­furt. The trio mem­bers also re­cei­ved va­lu­able in­spi­ra­ti­on from Arie Var­di, Eber­hard Feltz, Kon­stan­tin Heid­rich, Fre­de­rik Øland, Krzy­sztof Węgrzyn, Pe­ter Bruns, Tim Vog­ler, Frank Rei­ne­cke, Hei­me Mül­ler, Cuar­te­to Ca­sals and the Sto­rio­ni Trio, among others.

At the end of 2024, the en­sem­ble play­ed three con­certs for the Ver­ein zur Pfle­ge der Kam­mer­mu­sik und zur För­de­rung jun­ger Mu­si­ker e. V. and came se­cond in the 27th Cham­ber Mu­sic Com­pe­ti­ti­on of the Po­ly­tech­ni­sche Ge­sell­schaft.
