BAdance invites you to the 2024 Winter Dance Project

This se­mes­ter, the BA Dance stu­dents at the HfMDK Frank­furt have been re­se­ar­ching and crea­ting with world-re­now­ned ar­tists to ex­plo­re the­mes such as new ba­lan­ce, risk and tog­e­ther­ness. They will pre­sent the re­sults at the Win­ter Dance Pro­ject: three evenings cha­rac­te­ri­zed by the en­er­gy of this next ge­nera­ti­on of young ar­tists who are brea­king new ground in the art form of dance with cou­ra­ge and sen­si­ti­vi­ty.

The pro­gram in­clu­des three world pre­mie­res: Crea­ted by and with the ar­tist and cho­reo­gra­pher Kris­tel van Issum, the di­rec­tor and cho­reo­gra­pher Ni­co­le Beut­ler and the new pro­fes­sor and head of the dance de­part­ment Da­mi­an Gmür. In ad­di­ti­on, Alan Bar­nes has res­ta­ged and re­wor­ked ma­te­ri­al and con­cepts from work­wi­t­hin­work, cho­reo­gra­phed by Ho­no­ra­ry Pro­fes­sor Wil­liam For­sy­the. The evenin­g's mu­sic ran­ges from Mau­rice Ra­vel and Lu­cia­no Berio to new com­po­si­ti­ons by Fa­bi­an Schulz and Gary She­pard.

An event with stu­dents from the HfMD­K's BA Dance cour­se un­der the di­rec­tion of Da­mi­an Gmür with the sup­port of the Hes­si­an Thea­ter Aca­de­my.

The three per­for­man­ces on Fe­bru­a­ry 9, 10 and 11, 2024 will each take place at 8 pm at the Gal­lus Thea­ter. The long-stan­ding col­la­bo­ra­ti­on bet­ween the Gal­lus Thea­ter and the BA­d­ance de­part­ment of the HfMDK is now in its 23rd edi­ti­on.
