Luis Gehrmann

Introduction
The baritone Luis Gehrmann is 25 years old and studies at the Frankfurt University of Music and Performing Arts (HfMDK) in the class of Professor Thomas Heyer.
Born in Erbach, he began his musical education at the age of 5 at the Odenwald Music School. There, he performed leading roles in musicals and received 3 scholarships for his classical singing.
Alongside an initial career path as a business informatics specialist, he continued his vocal studies, which led him to renowned teachers such as soprano Marina Unruh, opera singer Derrick Ballard, voice professor Bernd Valentin, and ultimately to his current professor.
After receiving offers from the HfMT Hamburg, UdK Berlin, and HfMDK Frankfurt for a Bachelor’s degree in classical singing, he left his job in business informatics behind in 2023.
He is currently a recipient of the Deutschlandstipendium scholarship at the HfMDK Frankfurt. His versatile repertoire includes opera arias by composers such as Mozart and Wagner, art songs by Schubert and Loewe, as well as oratorio arias by Bach and Fauré.
