Emma Ibáñez Frau was born in Pal­ma de Mal­lor­ca in 2002.

She star­ted her dance edu­ca­ti­on at the Con­ser­va­to­ri Pro­fes­sio­nal de Mú­si­ca i Dan­sa de Mal­lor­ca whe­re she com­ple­ted her ele­men­ta­ry de­gree fo­cu­sed on bal­let and Spa­nish dance, re­cei­ving the Out­stan­ding Stu­dent Award at the end of her stu­dies the­re. Then, she joi­ned the ap­pren­ti­ce pro­gram­me from Pa­sodos Dance Com­pa­ny / Pal­ma Dance Cen­ter un­der the di­rec­tion of Lau­ra Macías and Ga­vin de Paor, which in­clu­ded bal­let, con­tem­pora­ry dance and jazz for­ma­ti­on. She also got the chan­ce to gain sta­ge ex­pe­ri­ence while tou­ring through Spain with dif­fe­rent pro­duc­tions and star­ted de­ve­lo­ping her cho­reo­gra­phic skills as well. She's a stu­dent of the Ba­Tanz in HfMDK sin­ce the WS 21/22 and she holds the Deutsch­land­sti­pen­di­um sup­por­ted by the Tan­ja Liedt­ke Stif­tung sin­ce the WS 22/23.

In her pre­vious for­ma­ti­on, she took clas­ses with pres­ti­gious tea­chers such as Re­na­to Paro­ni, Pas­cal Touzeau, Al­fon­so Pa­len­cia, Na­tsu Sa­sa­ki, Ele­na Glur­jid­ze, Be­ni­to Mar­ce­li­no, Em­ma­nu­el­le Bron­cin, Ga­bor Ka­pin and Olaf Schmidt among others. Du­ring her stu­dies at HfMDK she has at­ten­ded va­rious work­shops with dan­cers and cho­reo­graph­ers like Rena But­ler, Mi­lan He­rich, Na­ren­dra Pa­til, Nica Cac­ci­vio, Se­bas­ti­an We­ber and Max Levy. And she has been in­vol­ved in crea­ti­ve pro­ces­ses from Die­ter Heit­kamp, Jean-Hu­gues As­so­ho­to, Sade Ma­me­do­va, Lu­cy­na Zwo­lins­ka, Zai­da Bal­leste­ros, Ga­bri­el Ga­l­in­dez, Eva Bau­mann, Kris­ti­na Veit, Vic­to­ria Sönt­gen, Nor­bert Pape, Re­gi­na Van Ber­kel, Alan Bar­nes, Ni­co­le Beut­ler and Kris­ti­an Le­ver.

Emma feels very mo­ved by so­ci­al is­su­es and is very cu­rious about fin­ding a way to con­front them through art. She's also de­ve­lo­ping a huge in­te­rest in dance edu­ca­ti­on and men­tal health, ques­tio­ning tra­di­ti­on and loo­king for an in­clu­si­ve evo­lu­ti­on of the dance edu­ca­ti­on field.
