Clara Valdera Barbero

<p style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify; font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal; font-family: Times; color: #333333;"><span style="font-kerning: none;">Clara Valdera Barbero was born in 2000 in Seville, Spain. In 2005, she began both dancing and learning to play the flute, which would make her obtain rhythm and musicality skills. However, it was not until years later, in the conservatory of her hometown where she developed a special affection for dancing and decided to pursue it as a career. </span></p>

<p style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify; font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal; font-family: Times; color: #333333;"><span style="font-kerning: none;">Clara started her studies at the Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst (HfMDK) in 2018 at the same time as a Psychology degree form a Spanish distance university. </span></p>
<p style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify; font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal; font-family: Times; color: #333333;"><span style="font-kerning: none;">Regarding her dance formation, she has worked with choreographers such as Peter Mika, Prof. Dieter Heitkamp, Jean-Hughes Asshoto, Kristel van Issum and Cyril Baldy, as well as obtaining a new insight on what dancing really is and gaining new approaches to the practice from teachers of the University. </span></p>
<p style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify; font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal; font-family: Times; color: #333333;"><span style="font-kerning: none;">She participated as well in numerous workshops: Kristina Alleyne in The Place, London; Eleanor Bauer in PARTS, Brussels; Lali Ayguadé in the Dance Conservatory of Sevilla and Sharon Fridman in Madrid are worth mentioning due to their influence.</span></p>
<p style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify; font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal; font-family: Times; color: #333333;"><span style="font-kerning: none;">Since September 2020 she is a scholarship holder of the Studienstiftung des Deustchen Volkes.</span></p>

<p style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify; font-stretch: normal; line-height: normal; font-family: Times; color: #333333;"><span style="font-kerning: none;">Outside of the University program, she currently finds herself in a line of research that involves her own dance heritage, Spanish folklore, exploring how that can be a part of her movements and creations, and finding connections between both her dance and Psychology studies.</span></p>
