Bulgarian pianist Asen Tanchev and Latvian violinist Dainis Medjaniks had been successfully performing together for several years before they formed L'Ondine Trio in 2017. After a long search, cellist Moritz Weigert from Leipzig joined them and since then the ensemble has been called Soleri Trio. The name stands as an anagram of the cities where the three musicians grew up - Sofia, Leipzig, Riga.

Since the winter semester 2020 they have been studying with Prof. Dirk Mommertz (Fauré Quartet) and Prof. Priya Mitchell at HMT Munich, before that they studied with Prof. Oliver Wille (Kuss Quartet) and Prof. Markus Becker at HMTM Hannover. They received further musical impulses from Eberhard Feltz, Günther Pichler, Peter Buck, Troels Svane, Raphael Merlin and Stefan Heinemeyer, among others.

At the 64th International Jeunesses Musicales Chamber Music Campus in Weikersheim, they were awarded the special prize as one of the most promising young ensembles for 2019. In 2021, the trio won 2nd prize at the 28th Società Umanitaria Music Competition in Milan, Italy, as well as the Highly Commended Award at the Parkhouse Award in London. Several concert tours nationwide are on the schedule for the upcoming season.

The trio is united by the great desire to reflect their different cultures and histories in music. They are always looking for new ways and possibilities of expression, without neglecting the musical context despite all their enthusiasm, passion and spontaneity.
