Bound by a musical consensus and shared vision, the Heathcliff Trio grew out of a decade-long collaboration between childhood friends Ashley Tong and Sebastian Kolin, who studied together at the Yehudi Menuhin School. After completing their individual studies, they met Danish pianist Jonathan Siahaan, whose sonorous philosophy happily ended a long quest.

Regardless of their short existence, the trio combines the extensive individual experiences of its members - including collaborations with artists such as Nikolaj Szeps-Znaider, Kathryn Stott, Enrico Pace Kathryn Stott, Enrico Pace, and Barnabas Kelemen - and continues to strive for the discovery of its own expression. Performances have taken the ensemble to venues such as the Konservatoriets koncertsal, Studiescenen, Havesalen, Ansgar Kirke, Teatro Dengra in Spain, and the Gewehrhaus Schloss Weikersheim in Germany.

The trio's dedication and musical perspective has attracted the attention of distinguished chamber musicians who have invited the trio to perform in a number of concerts at festivals such as Oslo Chamber Music Festival, Hvide Sande Masterclass (Denmark) and JMI Chamber Music Campus (Germany). In the 2021/2022 season, the trio made its debut at Wigmore Hall for the final Parkhouse Award concert and at 22 Mansfield Street in London.

The Heathcliff Trio is currently studying in Copenhagen with Tim Frederiksen (Professor of Chamber Music at ECMA/Royal Danish Academy of Music) and has received further instruction from Caroline Palmer (Professor of Piano/Chamber Music at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama), David Takeno, members of Cuarteto Casals and the Danish String Quartet, Magnus Ericsson, and Marianna Shirinyan.
