After the kick-off for the Ensemble Neue Musik at the New Music Night 2025 with works by Liza Lim and a world premiere from the composition class, the next round is about to begin! Including a work by György Kurtág, who celebrates his 100th birthday in 2026.

Would you like to work on central works of contemporary music, in an ensemble or individually? Would you like to learn more about playing techniques and contemporary notation in practice? Or talk directly to composers and attend world premieres from the composition class? Maybe you still need an orchestra certificate, but you couldn't be assigned to the next orchestra project?

There is now the Ensemble Neue Musik, which is part of Department 1 and works on "classics" of contemporary literature and current works every semester. Instrumentalists and conductors can apply for a specific semester project or register their general interest (please use the online form at the bottom of this page).
