Study

Study

At the HfMDK, vocal talents are individually supported, regardless of which path they will later take in the world of singing. Careers in the arts are more diverse today than ever before. Our graduates follow the call to various opera and concert stages or work successfully as freelance artists.

Bachelor, Master, concert exam

We offer students different courses of study depending on their previous education. Bachelor's and Master's degrees are available, as well as the concert examination excellence course. In addition to lessons in one of the four classes in the main subject of solo singing, the training includes lessons in musical ensembles, scenic performance, movement theory and a wide range of supporting subjects. Regular master classes round off the range of courses on offer. Recent guests have included Brigitte Fassbaender, Helmut Deutsch, Rudolf Piernay and Andreas Scholl.

Multiple networks: cooperations and partners

The Rhine-Main region with the cultural metropolis of Frankfurt offers a wide range of cultural opportunities. This gives our students the chance to quickly connect to the cultural scene through our network. They can present themselves in scene evenings, the annual productions and in formats such as the New Music Night and the Bach Vespers and also participate in our collaborations in the Rhine-Main region. Our partners include the Alte Oper Frankfurt, the Frankfurt Opera, the Hessian Theater Academy (HTA) and the Burgfestspiele Bad Vilbel. A large number of private sponsors support our university and numerous scholarships are awarded each year.

Welcome to the cultural metropolis of Frankfurt

In addition to its outstanding musical cultural life, Frankfurt offers much more - important museums and art collections, a culturally interested, open-minded and multicultural society, lively trendy districts with a cozy Hessian flair and typical regional specialties, a variety of sports, leisure and shopping opportunities, green recreational areas and the river Main - there is nothing missing. And last but not least: Frankfurt International Airport opens the gates to the world for this lovable city.
