Apply for compensation for disadvantages

If you have a disability, illness or family situation that makes it difficult for you to perform certain tasks, you can apply for compensation for disadvantages.

The compensation for disadvantages can relate to individual study and examination achievements or affect the entire study course. Compensation for disadvantages will not appear on your transcript.

Reasons

Possible reasons can be

  • Disability
  • Chronic illness
  • Dyslexia
  • Pregnancy/breastfeeding
  • Raising children
  • Caring for relatives

Important: A measure to compensate for disadvantages does not change the professional requirements. However, the framework conditions can be adapted so that the existing impairment does not stand in the way.

Measures

Possible measures can be, for example

  • Longer processing time for written exams or assignments
  • Changing the type of examination (written / oral / practical)
  • Technical aids

Submitting an application

Whether compensation for disadvantages is granted and in what form is always decided on an individual basis. Therefore, please tell us as precisely as possible what your impairment is and what measures could help you. There is no legal entitlement to a specific compensation measure.

It can take several weeks to process the application and prepare the compensatory measure. Therefore, please allow sufficient time and submit the application as early as possible. You can submit the application conveniently on CampusWeb under "My studies / My applications".
