Evelien Ekers was born in 2005 in the Netherlands and began dancing when she was six years old. She started her first professional dance training at the pre-education program of ArtEZ in Arnhem and, directly after finishing in 2023, joined Introdans as an understudy for one of their productions. At the age of seventeen, she moved to Frankfurt am Main to continue her professional training at the Frankfurt University of Music and Performing Arts (HfMDK). She is trained in both classical ballet and contemporary dance techniques and has worked with choreographers such as Ioannis Mandafounis, Regina van Berkel, and Heidi Vierthaler. She has also studied repertory by William Forsythe, Ohad Naharin, Mauro Bigonzetti, and Robert Battle, among others.
