VERDI-REQUIEM: Interpretation radius - how do the others do it?

news

The next choir-orchestra project casts its shadow ahead and promises to be an exciting journey into Verdi's spiritual world of life and death.

For all those who would like to get a personal impression of this highly dramatic depiction of the "Last Judgement" and "pleas for redemption", the University Library's audiovisual offering has plenty to offer:

On our streaming platforms Digital Concert Hall and Naxos Music Library as well as our own concert repository (with digitized recordings from the HfMDK), there is the opportunity to experience the work to be performed (and much more besides) in sound and image in a wide variety of interpretations. Whether in preparation for the event, for teaching purposes or for private enjoyment - there should be the ideal recording for every taste and for every "point of view"..

To make the selection easier, here are three small suggestion lists from the three platforms - of course, once you have accessed them, you can search for and find numerous other recordings using the search bar.

HfMDK Concert Repertory

For those interested in "history", we have a recording of our university ensembles under the direction of former choral conducting lecturer Winfried Toll on our concert repository to mark his departure from the university in 2019 - perhaps some of those taking part this time were also there 6 years ago and can "listen" to it here.

Notes on use:

1. Internal university use

In principle, all recordings can be accessed directly from the university network (eduroam).

2. External use

a) The HfMDK concert repository is available outside the university without access restrictions

b) To use the Digital Concert Hall and Naxos Music Library outside the university, authentication as a university member is required.

For all those who are not (yet) familiar with the external use of the two platforms, there is also a quick guide available as a PDF download.

If you have any questions, please contact: Michael Weiß (librarian) e-mail: michael.weiss@hfmdk-frankfurt.de

Online training courses on (personal) access and the use of the two platforms take place regularly.
